Just Mobile’s AluCube Mini.
It is a very simple product that does just one thing, it keeps your computer related cables wrapped up and in reach when you need them. It will also hold a cable in place when needed.
Each AluCube Mini is made from a seamless chunk of high-grade aluminum. It contains a rubber-lined slot that holds your cables in place and it will hold one strand of cable as easily as several. Each one is fairly small at 1.2 by 0.9 by 0.5-in (3 by 2.3 by 1.2-cm). The product is shipped two to a box and includes two adhesive patches so the mini can be securely fastened in place if desired.

The MSRP is US$16.95. I found it on-line starting at around US$13.00. Third party mail-order sites should be considered by U.S. purchasers because of shipping costs from Europe.
Using the product
This product is obviously easy to use. The thing is to take advantage of how it can be used. Certainly keeping cables wound up and handy is a big help. But I like it best for something else.
Every time I teach a class I have to disconnect my MacBook Pro from the power cord. I keep an extra power cord in my computer bag because no way am I crawling under my desk to disengage that one. Of course, as soon as I disconnect the desk power cord, it wants to fall behind the desk because of the weight of the power brick. I’ve used all kinds of things to hold it in place. Some worked, some not. With the AluCube Mini I placed one in a specific spot on my desk, fastened it with one of the adhesive patches, waited the recommended 12 hours, and then tested it. Perfect solution.
Holding cable in place so it doesn’t slide into oblivion.
Do I recommend it?
I do. I suggest you order more than one box if you have a bunch of cords because I think you will like this as a solution.
