MindVision has updated their installer creation utility, Installer VISE, to version 7.1. Installer VISE allows developers to easily create and target installers to both Mac OS 9 and OS X environments. The new version also supports a feature for easily Carbonizing current installers, instantly providing OS X support. According to MindVision:

MindVision Software has provided MacOS X installation solutions since May 2000. Now, with the release ofInstaller VISE(tm) 7.1 at Macworld Expo, it's even easier to build install targets to both Classic Mac OS and Mac OS X.


With Installer VISE 7.1, developers can deliver their Mac OS Xapplications NOW. Features of the new Installer VISE include:

  • Easy conversion to Carbon installers
  • One installer executable for System 7 through Mac OS X
  • Behind-the-scenes installs
  • Mac OS X compatibility
  • Uses Mac OS X install locations
  • Detection of user's access privileges
  • Support for Mac OS X large icons
  • Run custom code according to the OS
  • Tightly integrated e-commerce support
