Apple sent us a note announcing some additions to its Hot Deals section of the Mac Product Guide. Hot Deals include special pricing on specific items from various Mac retailers, and Apple has added its own Apple Store, MacZone, and MacConnection to the lineup. We are currently seeing CD burners, software bundles, MP3/speaker bundles, and tons of DV and digital camera options. From Apple:

Apple's Macintosh Products Guide Web site has added Apple's highly-popular Apple Store to the Hot Deals program, along with MacZone and MacConnection. All three are offering a wide variety of attractive deals on a bevy of great products for the Mac. You can find special pricing on individual products, as well as specially priced complete solution bundles for everything from gaming and imaging to Mac OS X and small business.

The Apple Store, MacZone, and MacConnection join CompUSA and MacMall in the Mac Products Guide Hot Deals program, bringing the total number of participating retailers to five. More popular Mac retailers will join the program in weeks to come.

You can see the Hot Deals section at Apple's Web site.

The Mac Observer Spin:

It's cool to see that Apple is reaching out to more retailers, especially through its own online resources. The company keeps steadily chipping away at its operations, offering more and more improvements all the time, and this is a Good Thing.
