by , 11:30 AM EDT, August 22nd, 2002

Elite Computer, the Mac retailer headquartered across the street from Apple's Cupertino offices on De Anza Blvd., has announced its own party celebrating the release of Mac OS X. Starting a bit more than an hour earlier than Apple's own "100 Minutes to Jaguar" parties to be held at all of the company's Apple Store retail locations, Elite's party will also allow customers to buy Jaguar a bit earlier. Elite Computers has five stores in the Bay Area, in California. From Elite:

Elite Computers & Software announced today California's Largest Mac OS X 10.2 launch Party at all five of our ComputerWare by Elite Computers & Software Bay Area store locations.  Twenty "Searchlights Over Silicon Valley" will light up the night at our Cupertino (Across from Apple Headquarters), Sunnyvale, Capitola, Berkeley and San Rafael locations this Friday 8/23 from 9:00-11:00 PM.

This very special event and party will feature live Mac OS X 10.2 demonstrations by Apple representatives and the first opportunity to purchase Mac OS X 10.2 promptly at "10:20 PM."  ComputerWare by Elite Computers & Software will be giving away a choice of ThinkFree Office, a commemorative Mac OS X 10.2 T-shirt or a commemorative Mac OS X 10.2 MousePad with purchase of Mac OS X 10.2, while supplies last.

Customers should follow the 18" Skytracker Searchlights to the nearest ComputerWare by Elite Computers & Software store location for FREE tasty Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar Cookies and of course, a copy of Mac OS X 10.2 containing over 150 new features!

All ComputerWare by Elite Computers & Software stores will also have good supply of Apple's recently announced products including iPod, eMac and the brand new Power Mac G4 computers.
