New iPod Commercial Airs On TV (Screen Shots Included)

by , 11:00 AM EDT, October 9th, 2003

Apple is running a new iPod spot on TV, and the company has been kind enough to post it on the Apple.com Web site, as well. The spot uses the same sort of negative-space imagery that Apple has been using to push the iPod on the Web.

At the end of the commercial, the spot shows a brief text image of "Mac or PC."

In typical Apple advertising-style, the commercials are branding efforts that attempt to sell a lifestyle, and do not offer substantive information about the iPod. The colors and imagery, however, and very new to the company which is known more for its use of white backgrounds and product shots.

The Mac Observer Spin:

We like these ads. Sure, we wish Apple would think about actually talking about why its products are better solutions, but hey, this is Apple. The new imagery is definitely eye catching, and is likely to attract attention. The "For Mac or PC" message, too, will be noticed.
