Apple's Vice President of Marketing in Japan, Yoshiaki Sakito, resigned on Monday. According to FIN24, the move came after Apple and Mr. Sakito reached some sort of agreement. No additional details were offered, although he plans to start his own venture business.

Apple's successful iPod marketing push in Japan was credited to Mr. Sakito.

Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president overseeing worldwide marketing, will take over his duties in Japan until a replacement is hired.
