For several years now, Chinese supercomputers have been the fastest in the world. The list of the fastest supercomputers, at, had been showing the U.S. falling behind. Been following this story ... the specs on this machine are amazing. One thing that's not getting mentioned (much) is the storage system. A 250 petabyte GPFS filesystem that is capable of 2.5 terabytes / second (no, that's not a typo) of I/O!
