I was blessed with a new M1 Mac mini the past February.  I traded in my 27" Late 2015 iMac and sold my iPad Pro 10.5".  I purchased a 27" Monitor from MonoPrice.   https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=37923

Upon setting up the mini and the monitor I would notice Monitor would go dark for a brief 2 seconds at random times.  To troubleshoot I disconnected the HDMI cable that came with the monitor and used one of my own.  Still the same issue.  I tried adjusting settings and even turned off Night Shift. Nothing worked. 

In my search for a solution I came across an article discussing Active HDMI cables.  On one end it states source and on the other TV.  I quickly looked to Amazon for this type of cable and fund the MonoPrice Ultra Slime Series Active High Speed HDMI Cable.

I have been using this cable for a solid week without issue.  I am glad because I was nearly ready to send the monitor back to MonoPrice.  If you find yourself in this circumstance I hope this post is helpful.
