Uncourage: a Keyring with a Dummy 14-inch Jack to Hold Your Lightning Adapter

| Cool Stuff Found

It’s called Uncourage, a political statement in the world of Apple, and one that entertains me. Now, unlike a lot of our readers, I’m OK with Apple ditching the headphone jack, but Uncourage might be helpful to many of us. It’s essentially a key ring with a dummy 1/4″ jack. It’s designed for you to attach your Headphone-to-Lightning Apple adapter when you’re not using it so you don’t lose it. That’s clever, and it’s just US$6. The company said it will ship in mid-November.

  1. True, but at $6 and with that name it would be worth it. You know how some people have religious symbols on their keychains? Maybe hanging a symbolic phone jack on your keyring could be the next bit of geek culture. Pull out your keys and those of us that are part of the IT tribe will recognize a kindred spirit. I may order one just for that reason alone.

  2. “Wouldn’t people just leave the lighting adapter attached to their headphones when it isn’t plugged into the iPhone?”

And you wouldn’t risk losing the dongle.

I keep my earbuds coiled in a change purse. Of course this damn dongle won’t be problem for me until I get a new iPhone. Then I can move my 3.5 earbuds to my new MacBook Pro becauae the new iPhone 7 earbuds won’t plug directly into that, it would require a dongle.
