Mac Gaming News - Sega to Publish NHL: Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 in Sept.

by , 2:00 PM EDT, August 9th, 2006

Sega on Wednesday announced that it will publish NHL: Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 on Sept. 22. Developed by Sports Interactive, the game lets players take control of their own NHL team and make decisions about everything from contracts to playing styles to who will start and who will sit.

Players will be able to review their team's games as they happen, but they won't be able to control the players on the ice. Eastside Hockey Manager is concerned with the big picture view, letting players make the kinds of decisions that coaches, general managers, and owners make. The game features over 20 playable leagues, 45,000 players, and 3,000 teams with all the real NHL teams and players included, thanks to official licenses from the NHL and the NHL Players' Association.

The 2007 edition of Eastside Hockey Manager offers the ability to conduct a fantasy draft, an improved real-time 2D engine for coaching games and reviewing highlights, new tactical options that include sliders for fine-tuning playing styles, better recommendations and details from the team's AI-controlled staff, and improved salary cap control.

The game will be available only as a digital download priced at US$34.99. System requirements were not available as The Mac Observer posted this article.
