In what was most definitely the longest, most enthralling, most amazingly close match in the entire Myth World Cup, the Challengers, Civil Order have defeated the Champions, BMF.
The seven-game Grand Final was a fiercely fought match... and then with Civil Order's victory, both teams had one loss on their record and so the match went into Sudden Death. Back and forth the battle raged, until finally in a game of Dead of Winter CTF Civil Order pulled off a frantic assault on the BMF flag as the BMF hordes closed in on their outmanned defense... managing to take the flag with only fractions of a second to spare. With two victories in a row, Civil Order take home the Myth World Cup. Full coverage of the match may be found here and are just dying for someone to review them.
And so, the Myth World Cup comes to a close. One last story update rounds off that section of our website; read about the climax of Alric's Cup in the shadow of the eclipse. I've also written a short wrap-up article of my own to conclude MWC99; you can read that here.
It has been a fun six months. Thank you all for participating, and good night.

This evening, Civil Order defeated Alliance in the final match of the Bottom Bracket. They are thus named the Challengers and will face BMF in the Grand Final tomorrow.
The Grand Final will be held tomorrow (Sunday 21st August) at 6pm CST on bungie.net. I may not be present, but Cap'n Carnage will handle any issues that arise. The game will be played in the tournament rooms, and Sloth and Xmeat will be providing live coverage out to a public chatroom. Hope to see a big crowd there!

Yesterday evening BMF faced Alliance in the Champion Match for overall supremacy of the Top Bracket. BMF swept the match to take away a convincing 64-0 victory. They will go on to the Grand Final this Sunday!
Also yesterday evening, Civil Order defeated Glue the Moose in match 6W01. It was a hard-fought match but, alas, one marred by controversy.
The final result for the match is Civil Order 22, Glue the Moose 15... for more details of the match and the rulings associated with it, see the match coverage.
The Moose take one last bow and exit the tournament with fourth place, while Civil Order will go on to face Alliance today, in the final match of the Bottom Bracket. The winner of this match will be named the Challengers, to face BMF in the Grand Final tomorrow.
The Challenger match will take place this evening at 8pm CDT; once again we will be providing live coverage on bungie.net, and it should be a lot of fun.

With the completion of Round Five, MWC99 moves into its last few matches and so there is no longer any need for highlights - all of the remaining matches are going to be great!
So, spelling the end of our in-depth highlights coverage, our staff have looked at Round Five to select the best Team and Match this week, and to select the best and worst play of the week. Check them out in our Highlights section.

This weekend the Finals of MWC99 will be held... from the Champion Match to the Grand Final, four of the mightiest teams on bungie.net will battle it out for supremacy.
We will be hosting live coverage of the events in every game, if possible. Our observers in the game will be relaying events out to the chatroom for the spectators there. In the past this has been a lot of fun, and you're all welcome to join us.
There are two matches this Friday evening; BMF face Alliance in the Champion Match at 8pm CST, and Civil Order face Glue the Moose at 10pm CST.
On Saturday the Challenger Match will be played (time and teams to be announced). And on Sunday the Grand Final will take place.
It's going to be a big weekend! Enjoy!

I'm back from my conference, and everything went really well on the whole. Now it's time to sort out the current status of MWC99... things seem to have gone (partially) to hell in a handbasket in my absence, but we'll see.
