[Show Floor] MACWORLD Expo - Bungie To Show Halo At E3, Myth 2 Development Team working on Something New!
by Bryan Chaffin

Bungie Software will be showing their next generation multiplayer game, Halo, at E3 this spring. Doug Zartman, PR Spokesperson for Bungie, told The Mac Observer that the company will be demonstrating the team-oriented game at the show. "Yeah, we're going to dominate E3," says Mr. Zartman. A release date for he game has not been announced, but Mr. Zartman is saying that sometime during the second half of 2000 is a goal. The team currently is currently working on multiplayer functionality.

The company is demonstrating Oni, their next release, at MACWORLD Expo. Oni is a third person action game that has the Mac and PC gaming communities licking their lips in anticipation. Oni is expected to ship sometime during the first half of 2000, perhaps near the E3 show. Mr. Zartman told The Mac Observer that the company should have a "guess" on the release date within the month. The development team for Oni is focusing very hard on the single player element of the game, with multiplayer functionality being largely ready.

The company also debuted bTV, or Bungie TV. bTV is a multimedia show being produced entirely at the Expo that features gaming personalities, industry figures, and Expo attendees.

The last tidbit we were fed is that the team formerly known as the Myth 2 development team is hard at work on a new title. No details were given, but Mr. Zartman said the game would be unlike anything else on the market.

You can find more information on Bungie and their products at the company's web site.

The Mac Observer Spin: Bungie rocks, but that has long been accepted by many gamers. It was disappointing not to see anything new on Halo after the trailers from MACWORLD Expo New York this past summer. Company officials told us that there was simply not very much to see that was new and that they did not want to disturb the development team.

Speaking of development teams, it is certainly intriguing to think about what the Myth 2 team may be working on. For Bungie to say that they are working on something entirely different from everything else, the imagination takes off.
