Webmasters: Put The Latest Mac Releases On Your Web Site
Symmetry Software has released a new version of the Version Master Mac CGI which will display the most recent Mac software releases on your web site. According to Symmetry Software:

Symmetry Software introduces its new Version Master Mac CGI, a freeware program available to all webmasters. The Version Master CGI allows webmasters to display, in real time, a listing of the latest Macintosh software updates on their web site. Along with updates, webmasters can also choose to display updated version numbers and company URLs. The CGI connects to Version Master's enormous Mac database (50,000+ titles in 50 countries). This database is continuously updated, providing the most comprehensive listing of updated Mac software anywhere. The version information can be displayed in the style of the webmaster's choosing, including tables, ordered, and unordered lists. URLs to the software sites and the date of updates can be included or excluded.

The Version Master CGI is available for all platforms (Mac, Win 95/98/NT, Unix, Linux, or Mac OS X). The Mac Version requires a Mac OS System 7, Open Transport v1.1 or Mac TCP v2.0.6, AppleScript and Thread Manager. With System 8, these applications are already present. Version Master CGI works with WebSTAR (2.x or 3.x), Quid Quo Pro 2, IIS, Apache, OmniHTTPd Professional, Website Professional, and Alibaba. To connect with the Version Master database, one must have a full TCP/IP connection to the Internet.

Working in conjunction with the CGI is the Version Master Mac application, (VMM). VMM provides a listing of the user's software along with updated version numbers. For a minimal subscription fee, members receive personalized and relevant e-mail notifications when a program on their computer has been updated. Also, product descriptions and download URLs are provided.

You can find more information and download the CGI file from the company's web site. Version Master Mac CGI is freeware.
