MacLink Plus Deluxe 11 Includes Word/Excel 2000 Compatibility
DataViz has announced the release of MacLinkPlus Deluxe 11. MacLinkPlus Deluxe 11 includes increased performance, compatibility with MS Word and Excel 2000, and other enhancements. According to DataViz:

DataViz Inc. has begun shipping the next version of its award-winning MacLinkPlus(R) Deluxe product. MacLinkPlus Deluxe allows Macintosh users to translate between different applications, like Word 98 and AppleWorks(R). Version 11.0 adds new translators as well as updated decoding and decompression technology.

New in MacLinkPlus Deluxe 11:
Version 11 adds new translators to help Mac users convert Microsoft(R) Word and Excel 2000, AppleWorks/ClarisWorks 5 word processing and spreadsheets, Microsoft Works 4.5 and WordPerfect 3.5e. Along with the new translators, DataViz also added updated decoding and decompression technology for StuffIt(tm) 5.0. As was true in the previous version, MacLinkPlus Deluxe is Year 2000 Compliant.

What is MacLinkPlus Deluxe?
MacLinkPlus Deluxe allows users to open, view, decode, decompress and translate files between different programs and platforms. Whether you receive a file that was created in an application you don't have, download a compressed file from the web, or receive an e-mail attachment you can't open, MacLinkPlus Deluxe solves the day to day problems that occur when using other peoples files. It allows people to spend their time on what's important, and not be frustrated by unreadable files.

You can find more information about MacLinkPlus Deluxe at the company's web site.

The company is offering an upgrade from previous versions of the product at US$39.95. The full version is priced at US$99.95.

The Mac Observer Spin: MacLink, in its various incarnations, use to come bundled with every new Macintosh. This was a boon in an age when more and more Mac users needed to work with PC documents. MacLink allowed Mac users to be able to work with many types of PC documents right out of the box. Apple stopped the bundling shortly after Steve Jobs took over the reigns of the company, much to DataViz's dismay.

The release of version 11 of MacLinkPlus Deluxe will be a welcome upgrade for many Mac users.
