Apple Stock Watch: Another Banner Day On Wall St. Leaves Apple Up...Again
Apple has closed up yet again, the 6th straight trading session in which Apple has posted gains representing more than an 11% rise during that time.

The day started out strong for Apple and the entire tech sector as a key inflation report came in with better than expected results, easing fears of an interest rate hike.

Apple closed at 60 1/16, a small gain of 1/16 or 0.10%). Volume was low with 2,663,500 shares trading hands. Apple traded as high as 62 during today's session.

Apple's PC competitors also fared well with IBM, Dell, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, and Intel (closing at a new high) all closing higher. Gateway 2000 closed down.

The Dow and the Nasdaq both closed higher as well. The Dow closed at 10973.65, a big gain of 184.26, while the Nasdaq closed at 2637.81, also a big gain of 88.32.
