Apple Stock Watch: Apple Closes Over 64, Another New High
Apple benefited from another analyst's praise today and traded to yet another high today. Apple closed at 64 3/4, a gain of 2 5/8 or 4.23%. Apple's stock has not seen that height since January 11th, 1993. Volume was moderate with 3,989,400 shares trading hands.

Wall Street started off on a somewhat negative note as Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan once again remarked on the "inexplicable" performance in the stock market. That didn't stop APple's stock though, which traded in positive territory throughout the session.

The PC world had mixed results however. Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Intel all closed higher, while Dell, Gateway 2000, and Microsoft ended the day on a negative note. Compaq was unchanged.

Overall, the markets closed lower today. The Dow closed at 11090.17, a loss of 108.28 while the Nasdaq closed at 2758.90, down 15.72.

[Editor's Note: We have been incorrectly reporting that Apple had been trading at 7 year highs for the last couple of notes. Observer Mark Sanetrik pointed out our data was wrong, and that Apple was actually trading at 6 1/2 year highs. We apologize for incorrectly reporting those dates and thank Mark for keeping us straight!]
