An Observer Thinks Mr. Waldman May Just Be Misunderstood
Our story entitled "No P1, No QT 4, Microsoft Insults and Other Disasters Plentiful" received plenty of attention and a lot of feedback from Observers around the world. One anonymous Observer wrote in with a different Spin on Ben Waldman, the general manager of Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit who said the best feature of the new G3s was the reset button. Having some great points, we are presenting it to you.

"Dear mac observer,

This whole incident about Ben Waldman is really crazy. Remember that a few weeks ago, he was the same guy who said, "the mac is dead in the business market, you know it, I know it, and apple knows it" or something to that effect [Editor's Note: This was originally reported by MacCentral though the story was pulled later the same day]. But then recall January's Macworld SF. If you watch a webcast of that, you will see him gushing over the mac saying things like "try this on windows!" I think what you have here is a guy that just is not a good impromptu speaker, but who thinks personally that he is. He seems to be trying to match Jobs on stage with his little side remarks, his little clever anecdotes. Clearly, he is not very good at this. While I don't think he meant anything by either of the two negative statements (remember he had to retract the one about apple being dead in the business market) he clearly does not have the gift of thinking of spontaneous things to say and should just stick to product demos.

Unsigned"

Thanks for the Observations!
