Use An Ultra-Wide SCSI Drive On Your Old Mac
Trans International has released two new SCSI adapters that makes it possible to use brand new hard drives on your older Mac or your favorite old hard drive on your brand new Blue and White G3. According to Trans International:

"The two new products provide easy integration of 80 pin SCSI drives to an 8 bit bus (narrow, 50 pin) or a 16 bit bus (wide, 68 pin). The adapters are one inch high to match the one inch form factor of the industry's latest low profile hard drive products and feature onboard active SCSI termination, eliminating the cost of additional internal termination.

The Trans Intl SCA SCSI Adapters are compatible with the latest drives from IBM, Seagate, Western Digital, Fujitsu, Quantum and all other leading drive manufacturers.  Unique to all such other adapters on the market, Trans Intl Adapters provide proper shielding between the drive and the connector. This feature prevents damage occurring to the computer or the drive itself.  These low profile adapters are only one inch high, allowing easy integration into systems that have space limitations in height and width. They even Feature Ultra SCSI compatibility."

Ken Zaidi, project engineer of Trans Intl. spoke to us about the importance of the active termination.

"You have to understand the importance of onboard active-termination. The presence of onboard active termination makes it possible for a user to use any SCSI drive on any computer from the new G3s to the Mac IIci."

Prices begin at $39 (80 to 50 Pin) and $49 (80 to 68 Pin) for single orders, quantity discounts are available. More information is available from the company's web site.
