Optima Ships PageSpinner 2.1
Optima System has announced it is whipping PageSpinner 2.1. PageSpinner is a Shareware web authoring tool that holds its own against commercial releases. According to Optima:

"After spending several months moving the code base from the old C/C++ compiler used in previous versions, we are now using the latest CodeWarrior development environment which helps in creating a native PowerPC version and adding support for new Mac technologies such as Navigation Services."

The new version includes a host of enhanced features as well as bug fixes. A list of feature enhancements according to Optima:

Among the numerous improvements included in PageSpinner 2.1 are:

  • Improved speed, optimized for Power Macintosh
  • Support for Navigation Services Open and Save dialogs
  • A new Assistant for creating JavaScript rollover images and windows without writing code
  • Support for HTML 4.0
  • Support for previews in multiple browsers simultaneously
  • Improved editor with auto indent, faster restyling text block indentation, bracket balancing and three types of line wrapping
  • New pulldown-menus for all buttons in the toolbar
  • Automatic previews of the main page when editing a related or included file
  • Backup commands
  • Support for file transfers to a Web server with NetFinder and Finder
  • Updated AppleGuide
  • Support for Appearance fonts in dialogs
  • Improved AppleScript support
  • Support for menu sharing with e.g. Frontier and other menu serving applications Improved user-defined keyboard shortcuts

PageSpinner 2.1 is a free upgrade to registered owners of PageSpinner 2.0. The full version is priced at US$25.
