MacHack CD: Bigger, Longer, Uncut
MacHack has released a CD-ROM that contains all the hacks and highlights from this years show and, with the help of compression technology from MindVision, those of years gone by. According to MacHack:

MacHack, The Annual Conference For Leading Edge Developers, has long been the place where some of the best and brightest developers in the Macintosh community assemble each year to compete and show off their fantastic hacks in the MacHax Best Hack Contest. Now, without even attending MacHack, Macintosh enthusiasts can enjoy much of the thrill of the Hack Show.

This year's CD-ROM contains all the Hacks from the 1999 conference as well as hacks from every conference since 1993. Collected in one place, this CD-ROM is an unprecedented value for Macintosh hobbyists and coders alike.

The CD is jammed full of data. The 1999 Hacks and papers are collected in a folder for easy access. Materials from the 1993 though 1998 MacHack CD-ROMs are squeezed the only way they would fit in the remaining space using an installer built with Installer VISE.

"This CD brings together the biggest collection of MacHack history ever," said Scott Boyd of The MacHax Group. "MindVision has helped MacHack pack an unbelievable amount of the best of the conference onto a single CD."

The result of this herculean compression effort is 625MB of MacHack history made as easy to access as possible. Anyone interested in the hacks and papers for entertainment, study or archival purposes should own this one-of-a-kind CD-ROM.

The CD is available for purchase online for US$19.95. Shipping is US$5 in the US and US$15 for international purchasers. All profits from CD-ROM sales go to help fund MacHack 2000.
