Apple Stock Watch: Apple Heads Back Up Again, P1 Rumors Still Hot
Apple resumed its upward trend again today as advance rumors about the P1 still continue to make headlines. CBS MarketWatch is reporting that Dartmouth has already tried to reserve 1,200 of the unannounced products while another report indicated that executives may be keen on the product.

In the face of last week's post Q3 announcements losses, Apple showed that MACWORLD/P1 fever was not finished with the stock yet. Apple closed at 54 7/16. a gain of 1 3/8 or 2.59%. Volume was heavy with 5,010,100 shares trading hands.

Most of Apple's PC competitors lost ground today including IBM, Dell, Gateway 2000, and Compaq. Hewlett-Packard saw a modest gain.

The Dow and the Nasdaq both closed in negative territory. The Dow closed at 11187.68, down 22.16 while the Nasdaq closed at 2830.29, a loss of 34.19.
