Help Make A Mac App, Beta Testers Needed
On Technology has sent out a call for beta testers for Meeting Maker. This is a call for people who will actually have reporting duties to the company, not necessarily a call for people to download the beta. From On Technology:

The upcoming version of Meeting Maker (due this summer) is now available as a beta release. Meeting Maker is the leading real-time multi-platform group scheduling program. The Meeting Maker team is looking for beta testers, especially to try out and give feedback about new mobile components: the direct Palm synchronization for Macintosh and Windows (sync calendar/datebook, addresses/contacts, and to-do items) and the Java client (runs in a standard web browser). To be a participant in our beta program, send an e-mail to [email protected] with subject "beta request". You will then receive a form with more information and instructions. You can visit our website at http://www.MeetingMaker6.com or http://www.support.on.com/SUPPORT/MMXP.NSF?opendatabase#60 - - but please note that we do not yet have much data about the upcoming version posted."

The Mac Observer Spin: Many members of the Mac Observer staff have participated in various beta testing programs including MacOS 8, Quicken/Quickbooks, AOL, and others. It can be a lot of fun, though serious effort can sometimes be required. The opportunity to shape the development of a product is certainly worth it however.
