Apple closed lower again today in a disappointing follow-up to yesterday's gain. Apple closed at 46 3/8, down 1 9/16 or 3.26%, almost enough to wipe out yesterday's gains of 1 7/8. Volume was moderate with 2,003,600 shares trading hands.
Hewlett-Packard and IBM also closed down today while Compaq, Dell, and Gateway 2000 closed up. Compaq closed up despite the company warning of a 2nd Quarter loss.
Both the Dow and Nasdaq closed in positive territory as well. The Dow closed at 10841.63, up 56.68 with the Nasdaq reporting in at 2544.15, a gain of 26.32.
