Apple Stock Watch: Apple Slips, iMac Shortage Doesn't Help
Apple slipped again today as the rest of the tech sector did fairly well. Apple closed at 46 1/2, a loss of 5/8 or 1.33%. Volume, as has been the case for much of the last two weeks, continues to be very low with only 1,206,700 shares trading hands. We mentioned in Friday's Apple Stock Watch that Robert Morgan has said that low volume points to heavy accumulation of Apple's stock.

All of Apple's major PC competition closed up today including IBM, Dell, Compaq, Gateway 2000, and Hewlett-Packard.

The two largest indices were mixed with the Dow closing at 10815.98, down 39.58 and the Nasdaq 2630.28, a gain of 66.84.

Much of the market, while relieved after Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan's soothing comments late last week, are still waiting to see exactly how much interest rates may be raised.

The Mac Observer Spin: One contributing factor may well have been the news that Apple has run out of iMacs to ship from the Apple Store. As of this writing, we are unsure if that news made its way to Wall Street, but there is no way that Wall Street will react kindly to it, once they find out.
