Apple Stock Watch: Apple Continues Fall As Tech Sector Weakens
Apple continued to fall again today as much of the stock market took a dive with it. Concerns with AMD and other weaknesses in chips concerned traders who subsequently sent many hardware stocks into negative territory.

Apple closed at 42 5/16, a loss of 1 3/8 or 3.15%. Volume was again heavier than it has been for the last 2 weeks, though it was lower than it was yesterday and still remained below the official average of shares traded. Volume was 3,866,500. The heavier volume once again signals that investors are no longer as intent on accumulating the stock.

Apple's PC competitors were also hit with IBM, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, and Gateway 2000 all closing down.

THe Dow and the Nasdaq also closed down. The Dow closed at 10538.00, a loss of 128.86 and the Nasdaq closed at 2553.99, down 44.13.
