Date & Time FileMaker Pro Plugin Updated
Waves in Motion has announced the release of an update to their FileMaker Pro plugin called oAzium Date & Time that adds automated date and time abilities to FileMaker Pro. According to Waves in Motion:

Time is a problem for any FileMaker developer--not just the time that always seems to run out just before deadline, but also the date stamps, interval calculations, and event lists that can complicate even the simplest FileMaker project. The oAzium Date & Time plug-in from Waves in Motion solves these problems with a collection of simple functions that let you easily manipulate time values, and even save time in the process.

One set of functions allows you to measure the period between two events, automatically handling events that span more than one day, and expressing the result in the time unit that best suits your needs. With the release of version 1.2, you can now define your date and time formats to conform to the American default or any international standard.

Another set of functions lets you define a variety of event lists with simple one-line calculations that let you quickly determine, for instance, whether a specific event occurs within a specified range.

In addition to being Year-2000 compliant, the oAzium Date and Time plug-in allows time stamps and calculations with a precision down to the millisecond. Finally, you can start using FileMaker to time actions in professional environments where a second can seem like an eternity.

And with version 1.2, Waves in Motion has added the ability to automatically append or prepend values to your time fields and so build the complex calculations and compound keys necessary for reservations systems and other time-based applications.

Waves in Motion is offering a demo of oAzium Date & Time at their web site. The full version is priced at US$49 while the update is free to registered owners.
