Adult iMac Parody Site Forced To Move

In a sad turn of events on a story we posted last month, an adult iMac parody site was forced to move, probably due to legal pressure from Apple. The site shows a product called the iBrator which is modeled after the iMac and is extremely funny. When we originally ran the story we were inundated with e-mail from people who just couldn't stop talking about how funny they thought the site was. A few weeks later, the site went down and we feared the worst until we got a letter from the sites creator telling us he had had to find a new host for the site due to legal pressure from Apple. Here is some of our correspondence with the person calling himself Igor Brator. I don't think I mentioned this before, but I'm a huge Mac fan. I dedicated the site to Apple for crying out loud. That's why I'm a little saddened that Apple missed the point of this one. I was really poking fun at the iMac inspired translucent wonders such as the iFloppy, iCatch, iKey, iStick, the recent GameBoy, toothbrushes, and flip-flops! Call me an iDiot, but this is iNsane! Both Apple and Geocities have been unresponsive to emails regarding the iBrator site. I can only strongly suspect Apple because I received an email from Mike Rubin of the Apple legal department threatening an injunction (which apparently went through.) Due to legal reasons, Igor is not allowed to share that e-mail with anyone. The new location of the site is http://www.briarskin.com/humor/ibrator/. As we said in out original posting, this site is funny and we recommend it for anyone that has a sense of humor and doesn't mind seeing adult content. All others should avoid the site. The Mac Observer Spin: We say this is sad because the situation is very unfortunate. Apple has to protect its copyrights, trademarks, as well as their image. While this site seemed to only delight people, and would probably serve to sell a few iMacs for Apple, our current societal and legal system leaves Apple no choice but to pursue this site. This is too bad, because this site is truly brilliant comedy. Fortunately the site is up for now, so we recommend you see it while you can. iBrator
