Crackerjack Updated to Version 3.0
Lantana Research Software Corporation has announced an update of Crackerjack to version 3.0. Crackerjack is designed to provide "a direct connection from Acrobat PDF documents to desktop and production output devices while providing professional control." The update includes the following, according to Lantana:

"Crackerjack 3.0 offers additional features to extend PDF usage for production printing. These features include color management, desktop printer separations, improved crop and bleed support, watermarks and other backgrounds, headers and footers, and inclusion of Crackerjack Pilot™ (watched folders automation). These new features accommodate more varied workflows, extend the application range for PDF print production, and support a variety of applications and products that do not have the advantage of in-RIP separation capability.

Crackerjack 3.0 is fully compatible with newly announced Adobe Acrobat 4.0. It is also compatible with Acrobat 3.x, although certain features enabled only through Acrobat 4.0 may be unavailable."

Pricing Information:

"Crackerjack 3.0 will be available in Q2 1999 for Macintosh or Windows (95/98/NT) platforms. The US suggested retail price is $495. Those who purchase between May 1, 1999 and the Crackerjack 3.0 shipment date will receive Crackerjack 2.0 and Crackerjack Pilot in the interim, and a free upgrade of Crackerjack 3.0 will be shipped to purchasers who register with Lantana. Registered users of the current version of Crackerjack may continue to use the product with either Acrobat 3.x or 4.0. Lantana will also offer a Crackerjack 3.0 upgrade to current registered users for US $195 plus shipping. Details on this limited-time upgrade will be sent to registered users by the release date."
