New G3 Utility For Cache Size/Type/Speed For Upgrade Cards And PowerMacs
MacTell has released a new version of their PowerJOLT G3 control utility for controlling the G3 cache size, cache speed, and cache type. The utility runs on PowerBook G3s, Yosemite PowerMacs, Gossamer PowerMacs, and the PowerJOLT line of processor upgrade cards from MacTell. According to MacTell.

"The application features a European dashboard design whose gauges show the current processor speed, bus speed, cache speed and size, as well as processor temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. Surrounding controls allow you to turn off the i/o function to ensure machine stability and data integrity and gives you on-the-fly cache ratio adjustment without having to reboot. The software also identifies and tests cache speed and type. When set correctly, startup inits reflect configurations set by the end-user. All settings are easily manageable within one window so that needless window bouncing is eliminated."

The G3 PowerJOLT Control Utility can be downloaded directly from the MacTell's web site and is available free of charge.
