Adaptec Releases Final 2940UW Drivers, New 3940UW Beta

Adaptec sent us word that they have released the final version of the "open Firmware Aware" drivers for the PowerDomain 2940UW. According to Adaptec: Adaptec has released the final version of the "Open Firmware Aware" driver for the PowerDomain 2940UW (version 4.1). This driver replaces the beta driver that was posted on 2/5/99 and works with older PPC Macs as well as the new blue and white G3 Macs. "Open Firmware Aware" drivers enables the new (open firmware) G3 Mac systems to boot from devices connected via the Adaptec PowerDomain SCSI card. Adaptec has also released an "Open Firmware Aware" beta driver for the dual channel PowerDomain 3940UW SCSI card (version 4.1b1). Both drivers can be downloaded from the Adaptec support site. Adaptec
