Casady & Greene Update Conflict Catcher For MacOS 8.6
Casady & Greene have released an update for Conflict Catcher that supports Apple's officially unannounced MacOS 8.6. The update brings Conflict Catcher to version 8.05 and includes new libraries, new sets, bug fixes and more. According to Casady & Greene:

When Apple announces a New Operating System Casady & Greene is always one step ahead. So don't install Mac OS 8.6 without Conflict Catcher 8.0.5. Conflict Catcher's Clean-Install System Merge allows you to cleanly install the latest Macintosh operations system and retain your previously installed system files and preferences. This will allow you to easily update to Mac OS 8.6 without the hassle of reinstalling software or regenerating your preferences ñ saving hours and sometimes days of work.

In this update you will find that we have added the Mac OS 8.6 All and Base Sets, we now have descriptions for over 4,500 files including descriptions for Sherlock internet searches well as improved support for non-US operating systems.

The Mac Observer Spin: To hear Apple officially tell it, there is no MacOS 8.6, it is an unannounced product. However, the entire world knows that it is ready and expected to be announced at the WWDC next week. With this release from C&G it is almost assured that Apple will in fact go ahead and release the update to the MacOS next week. That's good news.

Of course, it is always good to get an update to Conflict Catcher too. Conflict Catcher is a fantastic extension manager that most of the staff of The Mac Observer rely on. It is also one of the most solid Mac apps on the face of the planet.
