Lexmark Brings Laser Printing To The iMac And USB Macs
Lexmark has brought the power of laser printing to the iMac and other USB equipped PowerMacs like the Blue & White G3 with a new product called the Optra E310. The Optra E310 is priced very low at US$399 and prints at 600 dpi. According to Lexmark:

Lexmark International announced today that its Optra E310, the industry's lowest priced PostScript-compatible laser printer, comes standard with USB support for Mac OS 8.6 and iMac users. With an estimated street price of $399 (US), the 8 page per minute Optra E310 delivers an affordable, high-performance printing solution for both Macintosh and Windows users.

"The Optra E310 is a value-packed laser printer for the iMac at an exceptional price," said Lee Neyland, Lexmark's General Manager for US Product Marketing. "Lexmark is committed to offering customers more printing options, and with this announcement we are expanding the print solutions available for iMac users."

Originally announced March 15, 1999, Lexmark's Optra E310 was the first laser printer on the market with standard parallel and USB ports.
