File Manipulation Utility, "A Better Finder Attributes," Updated
Frank Reif Software has released the latest version of his file manipulation utility, A Better Finder Attributes, version 1.3. The new version adds a new feature. According to Frank Reif Software:

I am pleased to announce that version 1.3 of "A Better Finder Attributes" is now available for download. This version features interactive editing of "droplet" mini-applications, which can be used to automate frequent tasks.

A Better Finder Attributes is a contextual menu plugin for the Macintosh Finder, which allows users to quickly change attributes such as creation and modification dates as well as the Finder flags of single or multiple files or folders. Up to now changing these attributes meant "hacking" them individually in ResEdit.

A Better Finder Attributes allows users to change the following file and folder properties:

  • creation time and date
  • modification time and date
  • backup time and date
  • name locked
  • file locked
  • the invisible flag
  • the inited flag
  • the shared flag
  • the stationary flag
  • the alias flag
  • the use custom icon flags
  • the no inits flag
  • the bundle resource flag
  • etc..

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

A PowerMacintosh with MacOS 8 or later.

The update is free to registered users. The full version is priced at US$10. You can find more information on A Better Finder Attributes at the company's web site.
