[11:00 AM] New Server Package Faciliates Large File Manipulation And Transfer Over Internet

HMR has announced the release of e-image Server. The e-image server allows easier management of large image files over the internet. It also allows designers and graphic artists more freedom in using, sharing, and manipulating large files. According to HMR:

In 1999, HMR introduced e-image, a client-server environment for creating robust imaging applications over the Internet. The first offering in the e-image family, the e-image Server, dynamically optimizes image use without the need to preprocess or repurpose the image data, and additionally provides server-side processing to dynamically author image content from e-image client events. e-image HTML, Java, or ActiveX clients display large images at high resolution quickly over low bandwidth – eliminating a significant source of frustration for the Web design community and smashing barriers to the use of images in e-commerce, Web advertising, and applications associated with the burgeoning digital camera revolution. HMR will introduce new additions to the e-image family, including utilities and authoring tools, in the coming months.
