Final Cut Pro 10.4 Gets 360 VR, HDR Support, More

Apple released Final Cut Pro 10.4 on Thursday with 360° VR video editing support, High Dynamic Range (HDR) support, HEIF and HEVC support, and more.

The new Final Cut Pro version also includes full resolution 8K video editing support, advanced color grading, iMovie on iPhone and iPad importing, updated Logic Pro X effects plug-ins, Metal-based optical flow analysis, and custom LUT effects. Version 10.4 also supports the HTC VIVE VR headset for realtime viewing and editing.

Apple also released Motion 5.4 with 360 VR motion graphics creation support, and Compressor 4.4 with 360 VR delivery, HDR, and HEVC support.

Final Cut Pro 10.4 costs US$299.99 on Apple’s Mac App Store and is a free update for current users. Motion 5.4 and Compressor 4.4 cost $49.99 each and are also free upgrades.
