Pixelmator Pro for the Mac

Pixelmator Pro’s machine learning engine can recognize elements in your images for more accurate selections, remove objects from images and seamlessly fill in the space, automatically name layers based on their contents, plus find the horizon and automatically straighten images.

The app’s non-destructive editing lets you undo previous edits in any order. You can undo a change you made yesterday, for example, without having to step backwards though all of your later changes first.

Pixelmator Pro sports a single-window interface which means you won’t have tool palettes floating around your display. It also offers a revamped paint and brushes with more realistic effects, what the company is calling Dynamic Paint Blending technology, and support for Apple’s Metal 2 graphics framework in macOS High Sierra.

Pixelmator for the Mac was already aiming to steal away Photoshop users from Adobe. With Pixelmator Pro they’re ramping up their game.

Pixelmator Pro will be available this fall. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
