Good news for users of SiriusXM Radio: it now works with CarPlay. This announcement comes hot on the heels of Sirius announcing it would open its service for free for a two-week trial period.
SiriusXM Radio on CarPlay
It’s been three years since CarPlay was introduced, and it’s still seeing slow, incremental features and adoption. But the SiriusXM Radio update is sure to please Apple customers. The iOS app version 4.2.0 version notes say:
- We now support Apple CarPlay! Connect your phone in your car and tune to channels, on demand episodes, favorites, and more right from your built-in display.
- Swipe to tune channels up and down
- Bug fixes and performance enhancements
If your vehicle already has CarPlay, just download the app. If you don’t have it, you can fit your vehicle with a CarPlay receiver to get commercial-free radio. Download the Sirius app from the App Store.
