  • Too much anger about trivial “emperor’s new clothes” hardware updates. The iMac Pro could use a Vega 20 refresh (Vega Pro II?) but a better update would be a T3 with 10-bit H.265 encode and hardware acceleration for macOS RAW Image import/HEIC export.
Updates for updates sake? Get a PC.

  • Apple should release more headless Macs, including low, middle and high products, from Mac mini to Mac Pro, and also a new mini tower. CPU may last seven years (then you cannot install new macOS releases but displays last more than 20 years. Fight programmed obsolescence, protect the environment and fight climate change and global warming.

    1. You’re right; outsides last longer than the insides. But not just another PC. How about M.3 card slots in the back of a new iMac-looking Pro Display. Apple Neural & Graphics cards (own GPU or semi-custom AMD) maybe one day a 16/32-core Arm CPU card too. The new fully expandable iMac/iMac Pro.
