  • iCloud VPN isn’t happening. Apple already killed almost that exact service that they let languish for a decade. Back to My Mac, created a secure VPN tunnel between two mac’s but only for screen sharing and file sharing. Better yet, back to my mac allowed for the same VPN tunnel from any mac to your home AirPort Router but again only for Filesharing with an attached storage device.
Why Apple killed Back to My Mac and didn’t expand it to allow for authorization for other people to Back to your mac or allow your iPad to go back to your mac or even to allow AirPort routers to offer other services through the VPN created by back to my mac is baffling. Someone should investigate what killed this amazing service because the dirty little secret is that the service is still being used, but for a more specific use case. This same system is essentially how HomeKit allows for remote access to your IOT devices.
