This Smart Camera Levitates and Rotates

· · Cool Stuff Found

Check out The Moon from 1-Ring on Indiegogo. It’s a levitating smart camera. And while smart cameras don’t need to levitate to do their thing, this one can rotate while it’s levitating, and that means turning silently. It’s controllable from a smartphone app, and features night vision, motion detection, and notifications. It will also serve as a home automation hub for Philips Hue, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Homekit. It has integrated temperature, humidity, CO2 and light sensors. Oh, and it looks like a frickin’ Death Star! I haven’t tested one of these things, and I don’t know if they can do everything they say they can do, but the campaign raised more than $89,000 in no time. There’s a month left, and the original goal was just $45,000. As of this writing, there are funding levels of $209 that will get you one, but there aren’t many of those left. It’s supposed to ship in March of 2018.

Smartduvet Breeze: Dual-Zone Climate Control Duvet THAT MAKES ITSELF UP!

· · Cool Stuff Found

I don’t use exclamation points in titles, but come on, Smartduvet Breeze MAKES ITSELF UP! I mean, IT MAKES ITSELF UP! I can’t even type it without going all capslock with a bang. OK, it’s also offers dual-zone climate control, but IT MAKES ITSELF UP! Watch the video. You’ll see it. I love a made bed, but being an overgrown boy at heart, I hate making the bed up. And so do a lot of other people, it seems, because Smartduvet has raised $579,533 on Indiegogo out of an original goal of just $20,000 (4 days left as of this writing). The Breeze part of this product is a system of air passages that delivers climate-controlled air through Smartduvet Breeze. Each side can be controlled through a smartphone app. The self-making part is done through a different set of air passages that essentially inflates to its made state when activated. There are funding options starting at $199 that get a Smartduvet Breeze, with shipping estimated for September.

Go Go Gadget Watch With BeOnCam, a Wristwatch Camera on Indiegogo

· · Cool Stuff Found

Spacemap, a tech startup from Singapore, has launched what it calls the world’s first-ever removable 360-degree wristwatch camera. BeOnCam cradles within an elegant, fully functioning smart wristwatch. It pairs with your iOS device and can take panoramic pictures. You can remove the camera from that housing, though, and mount it in a number of ways – on your bicycle handlebars, on a tripod, on your helmet, or even clipped to your bag. It’s splashproof, but there will also be a waterproof casing available for underwater use. The camera itself has a super wide-angle lens and a 5MP image sensor. It’s capable of capturing still images or video, and has a built-in microphone. It’s really cool, and I can’t wait to get my hands on one. Shipping is estimated to start in June 2017, and you can get in on the early bird preordering at the project’s Indiegogo campaign.
