Here's the Most Detailed Look at the iPhone 8 So Far

Steve Hemmerstoffer, known as @OnLeaks on Twitter, put together a fantastic video showing what looks like the best iPhone 8 mockup so far. The video has loads of details ands shows exactly how the glass front and back fit into the phone’s frame and even lets us see exactly where the SIM tray sits. The model is reportedly made from the 3D CAD files in the factory that’s building the iPhone 8 and was made using CNC machining. The end result is an iPhone that looks so real you expect to see alerts pop up on the screen. It’s four minutes of iPhone 8 awesomeness.

The Last Jedi Trailer in LEGO is the Star Wars We Want

LEGO and Star Wars go together like, well, LEGO and Star Wars. So of course we’re seeing plenty of LEGO recreations of the Star Wars: The Last Jedi teaser trailer. My favorite so far comes from Workshop LEGO Animations, and it’s shot-for-shot spot on. Rolling LEGO oceans, LEGO Millennium Falcon and TIE Fighters, Rey, Finn, and Poe. I love it so much I want Disney to make all the Star Wars trailers with LEGO.

This Star Wars and Sgt. Pepper's Mashup is so Awesome Even the Empire Would Approve

Picture this: Star Wars meets Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Actually, you don’t have to picture it because Palette-Swap Ninja did just that, and it’s glorious. They created the ultimate Star Wars and Sgt. Pepper’s mashup album that tells the story of Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans, and you can watch the videos for each track on YouTube. If you’d rather just listen, the album is available as a free download at the Palette-Swap website. May the Fourth be with you.

Here's How to get a Black Display (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7

Apple’s brand new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 sports a cool looking red body with a white display bezel—no black bezel option is available, which we think is a crying shame. To drive that point home, JerryRigEverything tore apart a red iPhone 7 and gave it a black display. It looks great and it’s a DIY project JRE details in a video. In this case, DIY assumes you have a black iPhone 7 sitting around, all the right tools, and aren’t afraid to accidentally destroy two iPhones. Still, seeing a working black bezel red iPhone is pretty awesome.

Concept Video Shows Great iOS 11 Interface Ideas

With our first glimpse of iOS 11 most likely coming up in a few weeks at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference, it’s fun to look at features we’d like to see in the next version of the iPhone and iPad operating system. Jacek Zieba put together a video showing many of those features in action, and it’s pretty compelling. How about a pop-up menu from the control center’s WiFi icon showing available networks, or group FaceTime video chats? We’d love to see more useful in-app screen controls and that option to clear app data and caches easily, too. But true multi-user support? Apple isn’t going there.

New Drone Footage Shows Nearly Complete Apple Park

Apple announced last week its spaceship campus is named Apple Park, and will open in April. Now, only days later, we get to see new drone footage showing the nearly complete facility. The new drone flyover shows the main ring-shaped building with its finished solar panel roof, and construction still underway on other structures. Landscaping is coming along, as are the two miles of trails winding through the park. Matthew Roberts shot the video showing Apple Park’s current state as of the end of February, and the entire campus is looking more impressive every day.

Eddy Cue Says Video is a Big Part of Apple Music's Future

The future of streaming music is streaming media, according to Apple’s Eddy Cue, which is why the company is behind shows like Carpool Karaoke and Planet of the Apps. The “Apple Music is more than just music” message is one he’s already expressed, and it’s a sign Apple’s competition in the streaming music market is growing beyond Spotify and Tidal to more inclusive services like Amazon Prime.

HandBrake Video Converter App Leaves Beta After 13 Years

It only took about 13 years, but HandBrake is finally out of beta. Version 1.0 was released on December 24th, and is the go-to tool for video transcoding. In layman’s terms, HandBrake is what you use to convert DVDs into video files you can play on your Mac. Version 1.0 improves audio and video syncing for difficult sources, adds new device presets, adds new MKV and JSON presets, improves performance Skylake-based Macs, and more. HandBrake isn’t, however, completely leaving the beta world behind thanks to its new less technical documentation that’s tagged beta. You can download HandBrake at the HandBrake website for free.

AT&T to Intro Opt-out 'Stream Saver' Video Quality Throttling in 2017

AT&T is launching a new feature in early 2017 called Stream Saver that throttles streaming video quality in the name of saving customers from hitting their wireless data caps. The cell service provider seems to have learned from T-Mobile’s headaches, however, because Stream Saver doesn’t include any streaming partners, and users can easily turn it on or off whenever they like.
