4-SightFax Updated With Improved End-User Customizations

Soft Solutions, Inc. has released an update for 4-SightFax, bringing it to version 5.0.4r2, and the availability of the Application Program Interface and the AppleScript Developer kit. 4-SightFax is a networking fax utility designed for sending and receiving faxes over TCP/ICP connections. The 4-SightFax update features improved customizations TextEdit support. The API release works in tandem with 4-Sight for creating cross-platform 4-Sight plug-ins. According to Soft Solutions:

Built on the feedback of an active developer community, Soft Solutions is pleased to announce 4-Sight FAX version 5.0.4r2, the general availability of its Application Program Interface (API) for OS 8.6, 9, X and its AppleScript Developer kit for Mac OS 8.6 and 9.

The powerful, general-purpose Applescript Developer kit will be available in Beta release beginning on February 17th.

The new cross-platform API allows both the Macintosh and Windows developers to create their own custom fax clients and tools. The v5 API is being integrated by industry-leading plug-in developers creating cross platform plug-ins for Filemaker Pro, Omnis, 4th Dimension and a number of C++ applications.

Other improvements in version 5.0.4r2 include requested end-user customization options with the Fax Forward to Email feature. There is also improved handling of Appleis TextEdit and Preview documents which do not support Apple printing Events.
