4D, Inc. Shipping New Java Driver

4D, Inc. has released a new app for database developers, the 4D JDBC Driver. 4D JDBC Driver is a utility designed for exchanging data between Java applications and 4D databases. The app features connections via JDBC and includes the source code for customization. According to 4D, Inc.:

4D, Inc., publishers of the 4th Dimension RAD/RDBMS Environment, 4D Business Kit and 4D WebSTAR Server Suite, announced today the immediate release of the 4D JDBC Driver, a robust driver that provides an easy and standard way for developers working with the Java programming language to access 4D databases.

Developers can utilize the JDBC driver to exchange data between any Java-based application with JDBC connectivity and a 4D Server 2003 database with no programming required.

Full Type 4 JDBC functionality allows the Java developer to flexibly use 4D Server JDBC Driver within servlets or client applets. An extremely small footprint ensures fast applet deployment and application access. The 4D JDBC Driver is based on JDBC 3. In addition to the driver, 4D JDBC also includes the Source Code enabling developers to add their own custom APIis if necessary.
