4D, Inc. has released an update for 4D, bringing it to version 6.8.1. 4D is Web and application development app designed for developers and administrators. The update features performance enhancements including expanded printing options and improved text support. According to 4D, Inc.:
4D, Inc., publishers of the 4th Dimension RAD/RDBMS Environment and 4D WebSTAR Server Suite, today announced the immediate release of 4D v6.8.1 now with customizable printing options, improved rendering and interface programming options, plus SSL, PPP and IMAP4 protocol support integrated into the 4D language.
Custom Printing Options and More New custom printing options in v6.8.1 allow header, body and footer sizes to be customized for high print area accuracy.
For Mac OS X applications, 4D v6.8.1 provides improved rendering with the anti-aliasing Quartz implementation for text display on 4D objects and a pulsing Aqua button implementation in 4D forms. New style sheets are included for both Mac OS X and Windows platforms. Additional new interface programming commands, such as Right click and Contextual click for mouse control, and defined text alignment for 4D objects, are also included in v6.8.1.
