5 Must Have iPhone Apps for San Diego Comic Con

Staying on top of everything at San Diego Comic Con can be overwhelming, so The Mac Observer put together our list of must-have iPhone and iPad apps to get you through the week. Read on to see which apps will make your Comic Con experience easier and more fun.

Official Comic-Con App

It may feel a little clunky, but the Official Comic-Con App is the go-to place for the full Comic Con schedule. It lists all the events for every day, includes descriptions for every panel, offers details for some off site events, shows all exhibitors and where to find them, and more. It's a free download for your iPhone and iPad.

Nerd HQ

The Nerd Machine's Nerd HQ is one of the best known off site events running along side San Diego Comic Con, and their companion app is a must have if you're attending any of their panels or other activities. You can stay on top of panel times, order your tickets, register your event RFID band, and more. You can get Nerd HQ for free for the iPhone and iPad.

comiXology

It doesn't matter if having to leave the comiXology app to make purchases bothers you (thanks, Amazon) because this it's still the big name in the digital comic book market. comiXology has the widest selection of titles from multiple publishers which makes it handy for keeping your collection all in one place. the comiXology app is free for the iPhone and iPad.

Image Comics

Some of the best titles in the comic book industry today are coming from Image Comics, which means there's a good chance you're going to hear about something you just have to read at Comic Con. You can buy titles in-app, so you don't have to jump to a website to make your purchases. The downside is that Apple won't let Image Comics sell some titles through their app—like brilliantly amazing Sex Criminals—but once purchased through the Image website they'll show up. the Image Comics app is free and available for the iPhone and iPad.

Lyft

Sometimes a ride is faster than walking when you need to get to different venues at San Diego Comic Con. If you don't have a car handy, Lyft can work as your personal taxi service. In The Mac Observer's tests, Lyft drivers arrived quicker than Uber drivers, and the ride rates were reasonable, too. The Lyft app for the iPhone is a free download.
