Al Jazeera Looks to Apple for Tech

Al Jazeera International is building up its infrastructure with Apple Computer hardware and software. Al Jazeera International is the 24-hour English speaking version of the Middle Eastern news and current affairs Al Jazeera network. According to AME Info, the network is teaming with Pro TECHnology to set up the gear.

The new setup for the network includes 41 MacBook Pro laptops with Final Cut Studio, a 70TB storage system with 10 Apple Xserve 7TB XRAID systems and 14 Apple Xsan Software Licenses, 12 PowerMac G5 Quad workstations, two PowerMac G5 Dual Core systems, and 19 23-inch Apple Cinema HD Displays for editing and design.

The new systems will serve the only English-speaking news network headquartered in the Middle East.
