After recently announcing rebates on their PowerBook and Cube systems, Apple has also cut the price of their high-end PowerBook by US$500. The new price for the PowerBook 500/128/20/DVD is US$2999.
A phone call to several CompUSA stores revealed that the computer retailer has not yet changed the price, but the price reduction is available at the Apple Store online.
The discounted PowerBook price comes after many users and retailers have complained about the lack of availability of Apple consumer oriented portable, the iBook. In the past, price reductions have also indicated that new models might be in the works.
Whatever the reason, the new price, rebate offer, and RAM deal makes the high-end PowerBook more attractive than ever before.
