Apple Offers Developers Free Intel iMac

Apple developers who participated in the companyis Developer Transition Kit program, which launched last year at WWDC in June and provided them with a Pentium 4 system housed inside a Power Mac case, can trade those systems in for a free Intel iMac 17-inch 1.83GHz Core Duo.

The DTK Exchange Program is good news for developers who paid $999 for the DTK systems that were under obligation to eventually return to Apple. The new iMac, in contrast, is theiris to keep.

Developers interested in participating in the program must complete the necessary forms by March 31, 2006.

Apple also recently beefed up its Developer Transition Resource Center with information on the Core Duo processor and new Universal Binary Programming Guidelines.
