Apple Updates AirPort Software To Version 3.0.4 For OS X 10.2 and 10.1.5

Apple has updated its AirPort software to version 3.0.4. Users of both AirPort and AirPort Extreme base stations under OS X 10.2 and 10.1.5. The new version is recommended for users of French AirPort Extreme base stations and users of AirPort Extreme base stations that are part of a busy ethernet network. From Apple:

New in this Release:

  • This update is recommended for all customers with French AirPort Extreme Base Stations or if your AirPort Extreme Base Station stops responding after being on a busy Ethernet Network.

Apple has posted the AirPort Extreme Firmware Update 5.0.4 that is included in this update. This new firmware prevents the AirPort Extreme Base Stations from being downgraded, and reduces performance degradation when connected to high traffic LAN networks.

Included from Previous Releases:

  • Fixes an issue where an AirPort Extreme network appears to be unavailable due to excessive 2.4 GHz radio interference.
  • Fixes an issue where the AirPort Extreme Base Station may spontaneously restart.
  • Removes all known limits in the number of FTP connections that can be initiated through the base station.
