Apple's Traffic Steady, But Site Drops In Rankings

In t he aftermath of the OS X Beta release, traffic to the Apple web site remained strong over the last week, again drawing over 1 million unique visitors, but our favorite computer maker dropped in the overall rankings due to unusually high traffic to a number of other hardware sites. Apple came in fourth in this weekis PC Data Top 10 rankings, behind the new defacto leader, Compaq, HP, and Egghead. The rest of the Top 10 contains most of the usual suspects, with Dell, Gateway, IBM, Outpost, and Intel falling in line behind Apple. Hardware reseller Computers4Sure made its first appearance in the Top 10 this week, and rounds out the PC Data list.
